Welcome to my stacking the shelves! Stacking the shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It is where you show off what you have recently added to your shelves it can include books you’ve bought, borrowed, received for a review etc.
Today, I’m sharing with you my December/January haul. We received about 6 inches of snow the day after Christmas which is really weird for the area I live in so I wasn’t able to do a stacking the shelves post because I love taking pictures on my bench. So now that the weather has cleared up, I am finally able to share with you the books I received in both December and January.
My Thriftbooks Haul
My mom decided to give me $40 to order as many books as I wanted on thriftbooks. Well I ended up with 12 books and I was absolutely amazed at the quality and condition that the books came in. Needless to say I will be ordering from Thriftbooks again and became an affiliate (click the ad in the sidebar if you’re interested in ordering from them).
The books I purchased were:
My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares
Wild Cards by Simone Elkeles
Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles
Returning to Paradise by Simone Elkeles
Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan
The Vincent Brothers by Abbi Glines
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews
Ruined Trilogy by Simone Elkeles
How to Love by Katie Cotugno
Looking For Alaska by John Green
The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks
The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks
The girls from Rainbow Book Club had a gift exchange this year. Aria was the one who got my name and I was so excited to get her gift. Mel also bought me two books she told me I needed to read, one of them we are reading together.
These are my gifts from Mel. A Monster Calls is absolutely gorgeous and I cannot wait to read it. Persona Normal is a book Mel told me I needed to read especially because I want to try and read more books in Spanish. We’re planing on reading it together at some point this year.
Aria got me All Played Out by Cora Carmack which is one of my favorite books ever! I only had the ebook of this one which I won in a giveaway and I am so glad I have a physical copy. Mateo is like one of my top book boyfriends ever.
My Savers Haul
I scored the Hunger Games and Catching Fire both by Suzanne Collins, Beautiful Disaster and A Beautiful Wedding by Jamie McGuire, and a beautiful I’m talking beautiful edition of Emma by Jane Austen.
I also scored Miss Peregrin’s Home for Peculiar Children and Pride and Prejudice and zombies.
My Goodwill Haul
Would you believe me if I told you I spent $1.89 on that Lord of the Rings book and that includes the entire trilogy?! No? Well believe it because I did. And I spent .99 cents on Percy Jackson.
I had a very lucky month when it came to giveaways. It seemed like every giveaway I entered I somehow came out winning. I even entered the powerball just to see if I could win…I was not a powerball winner unfortunately but I did win $4. So that’s better than nothing right?
ARCs I received for Review
I already read and reviewed this one and you can find my review here. I haven’t had the chance to watch the show but I am looking forward to it when I have time.
I am a part of Harper Teen Summer 2016 Tour. I am so excited to be apart of this, I am promoting The Fall of Butterflies. I haven’t heard a whole lot of buzz about it so I’m pretty excited to dive in. You can catch my post on February 20.
My ARC of the V-Word which you will read my review at my blog stop on February 5th.
Thank you to Penguin for copy of The Conspiracy of Us.
Thank you to Simon Pulse for my finished copy of We Are The Ants. My tour stop for this is on Monday.
I did something I never would’ve done. I let Cristian pick out a good majority of my library haul. He picked My life with the Walter Brothers by Ali Novak, Girl in Reverse by Barbara Stuber, Music through the Floor by Eric Puchner, The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler. I picked a couple graphic novels and a couple books in Spanish. The Tiny Bookworms also had their own book haul of their own.
One Clicking is going to get me divorced
If you haven’t guessed it already, I am on an official book buying ban. So, what about you? Which books did you get your hands? Leave me links down below and I’ll stop on by.
