In Kiss Cam, teen author Kiara London asks, what's a little harmless kissing between friends?
Juniper, Jasper, and Lenny have been friends forever and co-own a vlog channel called WereVloggingHere. Their fans are huge "shippers" who believe that Juniper and Jasper are perfect for each other, and, despite warnings from friends and family, a simple Truth-or-Dare inspired kiss soon spirals out of control into a whole new world of making out and surprise kisses.
Juniper and Jasper's relationship begins to shift. But as fan requests for different "Kiss Cam" segments keep pouring in, Juniper puts her worries aside and convinces herself that it doesn't mean anything. After all, it's just kissing… right?
Young Adult has been a huge hit or miss with me lately but Kiss Cam was a book I actually read in one sitting and it has been a very long time since I’ve done that.
Kiss Cam is a friends to lovers kind of story and if you know me then you know this right up my alley. The concept of Kiss Cam along with the cover really intrigued me.
When I first started Kiss Cam, I wasn’t too sure if I was going to like this because like I said YA has been really hit or miss with me lately. The beginning of Kiss Cam didn’t seem like I would like this but I actually really did and I ended up reading the whole thing in a couple hours.
It has been a long time since a book has made me smile and swoon and I found myself swooning and smiling throughout the book. The book is definitely predictable but I feel like that’s what made it good. It was cute and fluffy and it was everything I enjoy in a young adult novel.
The story revolves around Vloggers Jas, Juniper and Lenny who vlog about their daily life. As many of us watch Youtubers and we ship couples we see all the time I felt like this made the story unique. I was definitely a Jasiper shipper throughout the story. There was no instalove and I liked how Jas and Juniper already had a solid relationship without it being a real relationship. I did find myself frustrated with them at times but I felt like it was pretty realistic.
I am also hoping that Kiara writes another story inside the Kiss Cam world because I am a huge Lenny and Alison shipper. I don’t know what we’ll call it but I’m shipping it and it needs to happen.
Overall, this was a young adult novel that I really enjoyed and I loved the cuteness, fluffiness and everything about it. It was a quick read and you should pick it up if you like these kinds of novels.
