Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely ladies over at The Broke and Bookish. Every week they give you a prompt and you make a list according to that prompt. I am a huge list person so this is my favorite meme to do.
This Week’s Prompt: Graphic Novels Last year, I discovered two new loves of mine. Graphic Novels and Audiobooks. Since today’s prompt is graphic novels. I’m super excited to show you the awesome graphic novels, I discovered this past year.
1.Ms. Marvel, Vol. 1: No Normal by G. Willow Wilson – a super hero that is Muslim? I had to pick this up because everyone was talking about it. The first volume wasn’t the best but the series has gotten much better each volume.
2. Wonder Woman, Volume 1: Blood by Brian Azzarello – Greek Myth + Wonder Woman? Enough said.
3. Saga, Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan – this was the last book I read in 2016 and boy I was hooked. I checked out all the volumes and I’m currently holding two hostage from the library.
4. Edward Scissorhands Volume 1: Parts Unknown by Kate Leth – this was the first graphic novel I ever read. I absolutely love Edward Scissorhands and had to check this out when I found it at the library.
5.I Hate Fairyland by Skottie Young – I loved the artwork in this one and I loved how sarcastic Gert was.
6.Chew, Vol. 1: Taster’s Choice by John Layman – this one isn’t for the faint of heart because of how gross it could be. But I really enjoyed the unique storyline and I can’t wait to pick up the rest of the series.
7.Rendez-Vous in Phoenix by Tony Sandoval – This one was short and powerful graphic novel about immigration.
8.Harper Connelly Graphic Novels #2 by Charlaine Harris – I absolutely loved this one! I started on volume 2 without realizing it but it wasn’t that hard to follow. I really loved the idea of a psychic who can help the dead.
