An insatiable attraction heats to the boiling point in this steamy book set in the shore town of Sea Breeze from the author of the white-hot The Vincent Boys.
Preston is one bad boy. And Amanda has harbored a crush on him for forever. When she finally makes her move on him, it does not end well. But still, she can’t resist him. Especially now that he seems to be pursuing her, too.
No one wants wants them to be together. Not Amanda’s brother Marcus, who is on the verge of his marriage to Low, and definitely not any of Preston’s buddies. They know way too much about Preston’s dark side. Even Preston realizes he’s not good enough for someone like her.
But Amanda believes there is more to Preston than his bad boy persona, and she is determined to unearth what he’s hiding behind his seductive blue eyes—secrets that could explain his actions. Secrets Amanda might not be able to forgive.
Yet the dangerous attraction persists...and neither Preston nor Amanda is going to deny it.
Just For Now is the fourth book in the Sea Breeze series. This one is about Amanda and Preston. Both characters have been introduced in previous Sea Breeze stories but this time they take center stage.
Just For Now is much more mature then the previous Sea Breeze novels. I also feel like this one really pushed into the new adult genre. It was more explicit, it dealt with more mature topics and it was one that made me have very mixed feelings.
Part of me loved this story; the other part of me thought this story could have been handled a little different.
What did I love about this story? Well I loved Preston! I thought he was extremely caring, so sweet and probably one of the worlds best big brothers. He always put his brothers and sister first even if I didn’t necessarily agree with his decisions. In the previous novels, there was always a secret about Preston and when it was revealed in Just For Now, I kind of knew what it was but I also felt like after it was revealed it was brushed under the rug.
That was one of the things, I didn’t like about the story. I felt like it could have been handled much differently. There could have been a huge discussion about this (I’m not saying what because it is a major spoiler) but I felt like it was a missed opportunity.
Amanda was a character that I enjoyed seeing in previous novels. She was always so sweet and kind and I felt like that didn’t change in Just For Now. She was just as kind hearted and sweet. I really enjoyed her character.
I noticed throughout this series there were different tropes going on, this one has the best friend’s little sister trope and the rich girl poor boy trope. If you are into this and want a little twist, then I’d recommend this.
