I came across Book & Bloom’s sign up post for The House Cup Reading Challenge and decided to join in. The House Cup Reading Challenge is hosted by Lauren at Live, Love, Read (Gryffindor) , Kelsey at Kelsey’s Cluttered Bookshelf (Hufflepuff), Alex at Booksy Daisy (Ravenclaw), Erica at Escape Under The Cover (Slytherin).

The challenge begins on October 15 – November 12 and there are opportunities to win prizes.

My Tentative TBR for The House Cup Reading Challenge

Challenge Categories and Points Breakdown

Main Challenge (20 points each)

Not everyone likes to be confined to a specific category, so we’ve decided that all books for the main challenge are reader’s choice. This means you can pick any book off your TBR list to count toward the main challenge!

First Year: On A Tuesday by Whitney G
Second Year: Dear Delilah by T. Bester
Third Year: Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines
Fourth Year: Under the Lights by Abbi Glines
Fifth Year: After The Game by Abbi Glines
Sixth Year: Got Mine by Nicole Loufas
Seventh Year: I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sánchez

Bonus Challenges (10 points each)

For those who like categories to help narrow down their reading choices, here are thirteen bonus challenges to choose from. However, books you read for the bonus challenges cannot count toward the main challenge! For example, if you pick The Hunger Games for the Slytherin bonus challenge (read a dystopian book), you cannot also count it toward your second-year challenge.

Gryffindor: Read a book with an epic hero/heroine
– Wonder Woman (Warbringer) by Leigh Bardugo

Hufflepuff: Read a book that contains a strong friendship
– The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

Ravenclaw: Read a book that revolves around a mystery
– Echo after Echo by Amy Rose Capetta

Care of Magical Creatures: Read a book that features an animal or magical/mythical creature
– Our Dark Duet by V.E. Schwab

Tri-Wizard Tournament: Read a book that includes a competition –
Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Occlumency: Read a book about a character with magical abilities or superpowers
– Charmed: A Thousand Deaths by Erica Schultz

Death Eater: Read a book told from the POV of a villain
– Because You Love To Hate Me by by Ameriie

Platform 9 3/4: Read a book that features travel
– The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

Dumbledore’s Army: Buddy-read a book with a friend or group
If anyone wants to buddy read a book with me. Let me know! I’m doing #RockmyTBR and wouldn’t mind knocking off a couple books off my TBR.
