Es La Hora Del Chisme | Where Tina spills the tea #1

Es La Hora Del Chisme is my take on Jamie’s If We’re Having Coffee. Es La Hora Del Chisme (translates to It’s The Hour Of Gossip) is where I share with you a little bit of what is happening behind the blog. When I rebranded my blog, I wanted to share more of my personal life and I haven’t really done that but I’m at a point in my life where I want to share with you what is going on with me.

So please, get something to drink so I can share with you all the chisme going on in my life. Right now, I’m drinking a Dr. Pepper because honestly Dr. Pepper should hire me for a spokesperson and I’m listening to Who Killed Jane Doe? and I love this show.

Comadre let me tell you…this past week was really hard. Little 1 was diagnosed with a mood disorder (more like a general one for now because he’s 6). So there are times when he just snaps and starts telling me how no one loves him, how he’s going to run away etc. Some of it is typical six year old behavior where he’s trying to test boundaries like I took his tablet away and he’ll tell me he’ll only behave if he gets it back etc. Last week, he threw two big fits. He refused to go to school unless I gave him back his tablet and I didn’t. It is so hard. It makes me want to pull my hair out because I don’t know how handle it anymore. I set rules, I set boundaries, I do everything the counselor has told us and sometimes I feel like it isn’t enough. Some times I feel like I’m doing everything wrong.

Comadre let me tell you… on Wednesday my husband’s grandpa passed away. He had throat cancer and was diagnosed in mid January. The cancer took him fast. He wasn’t eating anymore and he was losing about 10-12 pounds a week. He told my mother in law, he was only waiting for her so he could pass. She packed up her stuff and was on her way. He lived 8 hours away from us. She told him she was on the way on the phone, 15 minutes after hearing her voice he passed away. I felt so bad, I wanted her to see him one last time but she wasn’t able to and I feel really guilty about it.

Comadre let me tell you… on Friday my husband was sentenced to a year in jail. He had to turn himself in immediately so I didn’t get to say bye. He was granted work release so he’ll get out of jail from 5am – 5pm so he can still work and he’ll be able to still help support us financially. The county jail he is at doesn’t allow visitations so the kids and I won’t be able to see him. Breaking the news to my mother in law who had just finished burying her dad was hard but telling the Littles was even harder. They don’t really understand. Little 1 was really upset with daddy and Little 2 wanted daddy to explain what was going on. Little 3 was a bit indifferent. It is going to be an adjustment but I know we can get through this.

Comadre let me tell you…I read one of my most anticipated releases and I didn’t like it. It also made me feel like a terrible human being because I much rather have a character die then a dog. DOES ANYONE ELSE FEEL THIS WAY?

Comadre let me tell you…speaking of dogs, where my grandma lives kind of looks like no one lives there because the houses are hidden. This results in people tossing stray animals near and the other day a dog showed up. He is such a good dog, he’s very active, friendly and so so good with the Littles. So much to my grandma’s dismay we kept him. His name is Dante (like the dog from Coco). He’s funny and we already love him.

Comadre let me tell you…my birthday is coming up and my husband goes all out for my birthday but this year we won’t be together for my birthday. So I’m not looking forward to turning 27. I saw our local theatre was going to show Selena again for her birthday so I wanted to go and I was about to buy tickets to see it with my mom and my sisters but when I checked out I saw the total was going to be $80! And I decided that I’ll just watch the movie at home.

Comadre let me tell you…I found this fitness watch at Target. It’s kind of like a fitbit but only $7. It works pretty good actually. I just got it but I’m already thinking about adding steps to my bullet journal tracker.

Comadre let me tell you…I found this throwback Nickelodeon coloring book that has Doug, Rugrats, Rocket Power, Catdog at Dollar General. It is so awesome. I can’t wait to color in it.

Comadre let me tell you…I’m running out of recipes to make for lunch so if you have any ideas please tell me some of your favorite food! I want to try something new to eat.

Comadre let me tell you…I’m participating in Camp NaNoWriMo and I have no idea what I’m going to write about. But I’m going to write.

Comadre let me tell you...I’m feeling pretty down but I’m hoping to get it together.

So Comadre, tell me what you would tell me during our hora del chisme?
