Do You Feel Pressured To Get Your Reviews Posted In A Timely Manner?
Not anymore! I began blogging about 3 years ago and I use to feel a lot of pressure to get reviews up in a timely manner. I use to stress about it so much, I thought to be a book blogger you needed to have a review up every single day. I use to be so hard on myself because I wasn’t getting those reviews up. I can honestly say that my earlier reviews back in the day were a total disaster. I’ve been slowly working on indexing every review I have written over the past 3 years and when I read those reviews, I get so embarrassed but it also shows me how far I’ve come in my review writing.
Now, I don’t feel that pressured to get reviews up in timely manner. If I don’t post a review, I don’t feel guilty anymore. This year, my goal is to post just four reviews a month and I’m honestly not even hitting my goal. And I’m okay with that. I also don’t review every single book I read, sometimes I only review the ones I have a lot of positive things to say about or the ones I don’t feel that great about.
To be completely honest, reviews have slowly turned into my least favorite to write. Most of the time, it takes a while for me to figure what I’m going to say and after the post goes live, I feel like it still doesn’t do the book justice especially if I loved the book. I’ve been blog hopping, reading reviews and trying to come up with my personal review style that feels like me. I feel like I can’t find anything that really helps me get my point across when it comes to a book and it is something that I’ve really struggled with lately.
