You never know what you had until it’s gone.

Trevor Valentine had it all ten years ago. Then she ran, leaving him to find love elsewhere, but the only thing he’s ever found since was heartache. When approached for help with a new promotion for Single Status, a website geared toward being single, reluctantly Trevor signs up. A week in a mountain retreat might be just what he needs to get over his latest breakup. A blast from the past when he walked in the door was the last thing he expected.

Unlucky in love.

Sasha Hart is down on her luck. With her dreams gone up in smoke, literally, she agrees to her best friend’s plan to sign her up for the new promotion from Single Status. The promotion promises she’ll be paired with her perfect match. Instead, Trevor Valentine swaggers in, all smiles and sweet talk. Ten years ago, they spent seven minutes in heaven locked in a closet that led to years in hell.

Can they meet in the middle to rekindle what they felt all those years ago or will Trevor’s history of heartbreak tear them apart for good? One thing’s for sure, Trevor never forgot about Sasha, and this time he’s willing to walk through hell to reclaim his heaven.

This Valentine's Day, being single is all the rage. At least that's what the website, Single Status says. They're not trying to set you up with your special someone. Instead, they’re going to give you the time of your life. Sign up a family member, a friend or join yourself. Single Status will send an anonymous letter with details of an activity for the day. #ValentinesDayIsntJustForCouples.

As you’ve heard me rant for the past couple months, I have been in a reading slump. I was searching through Kindle Unlimited and was just praying that one book would stand out to me and help me break this rut I am in.

Seven Minutes In Heaven kept me up all night reading. First thing the title automatically caught my attention. It was catchy and it made me want to find out how this was going to work in a New Adult setting. Then I read the synopsis and I was intrigued and automatically borrowed it.

Seven Minutes In Heaven is the beginning of the Single On Valentine’s Day series that is written by thirteen authors. Each book can be read as a standalone but is certain around the same concept.

The Story

Single Status is a dating service for those who are single on Valentine’s Day. It is not your typical dating service; they aren’t trying to set up you with your soul mate. It is more about discovering yourself. So you can sign up as by yourself, have a friend or family member go along with your journey. You receive an anonymous letter with your activities for that day. IS THAT NOT AWESOME? I LOVE THE CONCEPT.

Trevor’s sister Trim Valentine runs single Status. She uses her big brother as kind of a guinae pig to launch her company. Trevor has had the worst luck; he walked in on his fiancé cheating on him. So Trin is trying to help him out. The first part of the business is a weeklong stay at a cabin with another person you are matched up who Trin believes can be your soul mate. You can do activities with the person you are paired with or by yourself. The story takes place during this trip.

The Characters
Trevor is our main character and honestly I didn’t care too much for him. He seemed to care too much what others think and not what he wanted. He has his moments when he was sweet but overall I feel like Sasha could have done better.

Sasha is our heroine. Now she has the worst luck. The poor girl has a huge heart but was dealt a rotten hand in life. Her parents were addicts but she worked really hard in school to get accepted into an Ivy League school only to have to drop out due to finances. She then buys a bakery only to have it burn down. She needs luck. So her best friend signs her up for Single Status to try and help her have some luck on her side.

What I Liked
The concept! Single Status is a pretty cool concept and I don’t think I’ve ever read a dating service love story before.
The Writing was very easy to get sucked into. I couldn’t stop reading it once I started.
The story is told in dual point of view so you can read both Trevor’s and Sasha’s point of view things.
This is a second chance romance with a bit of enemies (mainly on Sasha’s part).
The tension! I loved the tension!

What I didn’t care for:
I saw the plot twist coming. I kind of figured how it was going to turn out. That was a bit disappointing.
Trevor could’ve been a better hero. I felt like he cared too much about others and didn’t put Sasha first.

I really enjoyed Seven Minutes In Heaven and I am curious to read the rest of the series to see how the other authors approach Single Status. This was a quick, easy, second chance romance that will definitely help you get out of a reading slump.
