ARC Review | The Lion Heart by..

ARC Review | The Lion Heart by Carrie Aarons

Trigger Warnings: Sexual Assault, Emotional Abuse, Physical Abuse, Verbal Abuse. The Lion Heart is book 2 in the Rouge Academy. This can be read as a standalone, you do not need to read The Second Coming to understand The Lion Heart. However, it does contain some spoilers from The Second Coming, so I’d recommend you read it. The Story The Lion Heart takes place after The Second Coming. The story is told in both Poppy’s and Kingston’s point of view. We follow Kingston who despite all the talent in the world can’t seem to make it to the first squad on the football team. Poppy on the other hand is working to make herself an even bigger model but keeps to herself causing others to not want to get along to with her. Both Kingston and Poppy seem to be searching for something more and also want to find peace […]

Top Ten Tuesday | Books On My TBR I’m Avoiding Reading & Why

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Today’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Books On My TBR I’m Avoiding Reading & Why. Please feel free to convince me to read these! Books On My TBR I’m Avoiding Reading & Why 1.Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo I’m avoiding reading this because there is so much hype around Leigh Bardugo that I am afraid that it won’t live up to the hype for me. I am tempted to read them now that Netflix is going to adapt them but I’m still not sure I want to. 2. Like A Memory by Abbi Glines I’m avoiding reading this because I HATED the last 6 books of the Rosemary Beach series (like after Bethy the rest of the characters didn’t matter AT ALL.) so anyway, I loved Sea Breeze so I was interested in this spinoff series with the kids […]

Blog Tour | Collision by Nicole Banks

Collision is the third novel in the Shattered Hearts series. It is the final book in the series and the book I’ve been highly anticipating for YEARS. I would highly recommend you read Shattered and Into Pieces to understand Collision. It can be read as standalone but to fully understand the story, I recommend reading the previous books. The Story Collision much like Shattered and Into Pieces are written in multiple POVs. It is my personal favorite thing about Nicole’s writing. I love that she gives us a chance to glimpse into the mind of all the characters and put the story together. Collision is mainly Chase and Kris’s story; it was one that began in the previous books and now we finally get them front and center. Collision takes place about 8 years after Into Pieces. It does include some flashbacks so it wouldn’t be that hard to understand […]

#MyTBRList | September 2019 Poll

#MyTBRList is hosted by Michelle @ Because Reading. Each month you will make a post with three books from your TBR List (these books can be already on your kindle or shelf or books you might want to purchase) and add your link on the linky that will be provided on my post. Your followers and the people on the linky will help you choose which book you will read next. The following Saturday you will announce the book that won. Then read the book and on the last Saturday of the month post a review. For September 2019 poll, I decided to do a Latinx theme to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month! I found some not so hyped books and see which one I should read this month. My September 2019 Nominees “Llorona was no harmless little pigeon. Top Ten Tuesday | Books I Enjoyed That Are Outside My Comfort Zone

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Today’s Top Ten Tuesday’s prompt is Books I enjoyed that are outside my comfort zone. These are in no particular order. Books I Enjoyed That Are Outside My Comfort Zone 1. You by Caroline Kepnes I absolutely loved You. The audiobook was AMAZING and I highly recommend it because the narrator has the perfect voice for Joe. 2. The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson This was a book club read and I absolutely loved it. I’m not big on fantasy novels but I really loved this one. 3. All The Stars Denied by Guadalupe Garcia McCall Historical fiction isn’t really my jam. However, I participated in Multicultural Children’s Day and I loved the synopsis of All The Stars Denied. I really loved it and I felt like I learned something from reading it. 4. Next Year In Havana by Chanel Cleeton […]

Blog Tour + Giveaway | Take It Off The Menu by Christina Hovland

Take it off the menu is the third book in the Mile-High Matched series. This can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the previous books and I didn’t feel like I really missed anything other than some obvious spoilers (such as previous couples). The Story The story begins two days before Marlee’s wedding. It was going to be the Denver event of the year, the problem. The groom no longer wants to get married, leaving Marlee to cancel everything. Her bridesmaids get to work and start canceling everything and plan a last-minute trip to Vegas. Eli decides to go to keep his sister and her friends out of trouble. Only to find themselves in trouble. The story begins with a bit of trouble and progresses into a slow burn then fast forwards to a fast paced novel. I really enjoyed that because the writing sucked me in and […]
