Es La Hora Del Chisme | Where Tina Spills The Tea #2

Es La Hora Del Chisme is my take on Jamie’s If We’re Having Coffee. Es La Hora Del Chisme (translates to It’s The Gossip Hour) is where I share with you a little bit of what is happening behind the blog. When I rebranded my blog, I wanted to share more of my personal life and I haven’t really done that but I’m at a point in my life where I want to share with you what is going on with me. So please, get something to drink so I can share with you all the chisme going on in my life. Right now, I’m drinking a Jack Daniels Country Cocktails in Berry Bunch. I love Jack Daniels Country Cocktails and this one is one of my favorites. Comadre let me tell you… the Littles started school on Monday. Little 1 is in First Grade and Little 2 is in […]

As Told By Littles | A Bad Case Of Stripes by David Shannon

I will be the first one to admit that the cover of A Bad Case Of Stripes freaked me out. It also freaked Little One out. He told me he really didn’t want to read this but we both decided to conquer our fear and read the book. I have noticed that Little One has been struggling with stress and sometimes I think it has to do with school and trying to fit in. I thought this story might help him. Our library only had the audiobook available but after listening to a minute or two of the story. Little one asked me if there was a way we could see the picture. The kindle copy of the book wasn’t available to borrow at the moment so I got on Amazon and found it for $3.99. I decided to go ahead and purchase it. The illustrations were absolutely gorgeous. Little […]

As Told By Littles | When The Beat Was Born by Laban Carrick Hill

I’ve been on a mission to read more diversely to the Littles. I recently saw When the Beat Was Born on different lists I found for diverse reads and was once again lucky that my library had it. I mainly borrowed this book for myself. I’ve always loved to learn the history of Hip Hop and who the pioneers are. When The Beat Was Born was a pretty good book about how DJ Kool Herc early life influenced his music. I also loved the illustrations and how they related to the story. They were very colorful and I felt it brought the story together. My littles weren’t as interested in this book but I think its because they don’t really listen to hip hop or understand the history of it. I personally really enjoyed it. Ceruleans Anniversary Party + Giveaway | Guest Post by Charlotte Wilson

Hey Everyone! Today I have Charlotte Wilson author of Ceruleans series. She is celebrating the second anniversary of the Ceruleans publishing. She was kind of enough to ask me to help her celebrate this milestone and wrote a guest post for you to read. There is also a giveaway for a chance to win the series in paperback. Consumed by a story world Books have always been a means of escape for me. As a reader, I love nothing more than to be immersed in a fictional world so deeply that reality, the present, falls away – and I love to go back to ‘the real world’ later and feel that other world still resonating. The enjoyment of immersion was one of the reasons I decided to write my first novel. I expected it to be sheer bliss to be lost in a story world of my own making, living […]

ARC Review | Malala: Activist for Girls’ Education by Raphaële Frier

Before reading this, I had a basic idea of who Malala is and I would say that this book is definitely a good introduction to her. The story gives a good platform into who Malala is and what she has done for girls’ education and why she began her activism. This would be the perfect book to read in a classroom because it would teach about activism and also help expand the children’s classroom. This story was not written for adults and is explained in a way that kids could understand everything Malala has achieved. At the end of the story it also includes a time, a website and videos so you can learn more about Malala. Like I said this would be the perfect book to have in a classroom and center a lesson around. The illustrations weren’t that great because I read the eARC on my iPad but […]
