CHISME TIME: THE RETURN

via GIPHY *Waves shyly* Hi! It’s me, Tina. The once owner of As Told By Tina. It’s been a very long time since I’ve actually posted. I’ve somewhat disappeared from the book world all together. I’ve only written one review so far this year, I’ve only read 10 books this year. Some I loved, some I hated. I stopped reading a bunch of books just because I wasn’t in the mood for them. I could give you a whole story about why I haven’t blogged but the truth about my unexpected hiatus was this: I JUST DIDN’T FEEL LIKE BLOGGING. And I’m not entirely sure that I feel like blogging consistently now. But I feel like wanting to blog (which compared to how much I didn’t feel like blogging before, this is a huge win for me). I’m linking up to Caffeinated Reviewer for the Sunday Post. It’s an amazing […]

Our goal for We Love The Indies is to introduce you to new indie authors from different genres that may interest you. We hope that you pick up one of these wonderful authors that we are spotlighting and enjoy their book. Today I have Monique Star author of Paved Bumps On The Holy Roads and The “Perfect” World. She is sharing an excerpt from her novel Paved Bumps On The Holy Roads. #LetsReadIndie | Interview w/ Michael Reid

Hey Everyone! Welcome to our first edition of our little segment we plan to call We Love The Indies. This is part of our #LetsReadIndie Challenge where we plan to spotlight/interview different indie authors to inspire one of you to read their books! Today I am interviewing Michael Reid author of the recently released “The Beyond Experience“. RaeAnne will have an excerpt posted on her blog so when you’re done reading the interview here be sure to head over to her blog. Welcome Michael Reid! If you could describe The Beyond Experience in three words, what would they be? Emotional, suspenseful, thought-provoking How did you come up with the concept for The Beyond Experience? I didn’t. It came to me. I was sitting one day and the idea of a doctor discovering a cure for anxiety and depression crept into my mind. I allowed the story to build in my […]

25 Days Of Holiday Cheer | Christmas in the Kitchen of a Midwestern Book Nerd

Welcome to third day of 25 Days Of Holiday Cheer! Today I have Emily from Midwestern Book Nerd sharing what Christmas is like in her kitchen. It’s no secret…I love Christmas! I love the movies, music, giving gifts to loved ones, spending time with family, and just the general joy and happiness that is contagious this time of year. To me, the month of December is made more awesome by the fact that it is the month of Christmas. All images are from my instagram account @midwesternbooknerd The love of Christmas is something that I witnessed from my Grandma throughout my childhood. She would shop for gifts for us all year long, spoiling us more than we probably needed. She baked throughout the year so that she had stuff to give out to everyone she knew for Christmas and her house was decked out in decorations. From every creepy and […]

25 Days Of Holiday Cheer | My Favorite Children’s Books by Lauren from Obsessive Book Nerd

Welcome to second day of 25 Days of Holiday Cheer! Today I have Lauren from Obsessive Book Nerd sharing her favorite children’s books. First off, I want to thank Tina for letting me pop over here to her blog and share my list of favorite children’s Christmas books. I wanted to share one of my favorite things about Christmas growing up: reading Christmas books. We had a wooden Rudolph book holder that my mom always pulled out with all the Christmas decorations. She’d put all of our Christmas books in it and sit it near the tree. It was always there, every year. Now, in my thirties, with a six-year-old, two-year-old and one on the way, I get to have a nostalgic Christmas every year, because the same Rudolph book holder sits near our tree. Here is a list of my favorite Christmas stories growing up that rudolph so kindly […]

Diverseathon TBR + Goals

DiverseAthon is a week long readathon hosted by Monica, Christina Marie, Joce and Whitney. As most of you know there has been a lot of discussion about Diversity. The readathon is inspired after a video came out about diversity that sparked all kinds of discussions both good and bad. Diverseathon was created to celebrate diversity. The Group Read is: I was really lucky that my library had the ebook ready to check out. I’ve seen this book floating around on Twitter and Instagram so I’m excited to dive in. My TBR for the Week: My Goals: My goal is to read at least 3 of the books on my TBR. I love having options so that’s why I picked 8. I’m really excited to see different perspectives in literature. I feel like I haven’t really ventured out into diverse reads so this is a perfect opportunity for me to do […]

Release Day Party + Interview + Giveaway | Darkly, Deeply, Beautifully by Megan Tayte

Hey guys!!! Today I am part of Megan Tayte’s Release Date Party for the fifth and final book in The Ceruleans series. I read the first book last year and enjoyed it. I still haven’t picked up the rest of the series but now that they are all out expect a series review sometime in the future. Today, I have Megan stopping by the blog to share a bit about the series and she gave me an exclusive on what she’s working on next. 1. Darkly, Deeply, Beautifully is the fifth and final book in the Ceruleans series. What inspired the series? The story of The Ceruleans, about love and loss, light and darkness, good and bad, is based on my own efforts to make sense of a world in which people close to you can die; in which being true to yourself can be incredibly difficult; and in which […]
