ARC Review | Forgiven by Carrie Aarons

Forgiven is the second book in The Nash Brothers Series. You do not need to read Fleeting to read Forgiven but personally, I would recommend reading Fleeting. You get a bit of the backstory in Fleeting that helps set up Forgiven. This is a second chance romance between high school sweethearts. The Story We met Lily and Bowen in Fleeting. We were also privy to the fact that both of these had a history. Lily and Bowen were high school sweethearts who were madly in love; they had their future planned out. It wasn’t until one night ten years ago that Lily and Bowen were in a terrible car accident that scared both of them with scars that are both visible and some that aren’t. Lily has no clue how one night could destroy everything they had together, she was mainly looking for closure. She’s confused about the break up […]

Excerpt + Giveaway | Ms. Baker by Lea Coll

Excerpt He came to a stop in front of me and looked down at me with an intense expression. “Is that true, Samantha?” I tried to ignore the butterflies in my stomach and everyone’s eyes on me. “I brought your favorite—blueberry muffins,” I said, thrusting the box in his hands. I continued, “I made these especially for you.” I said quietly, my face turning red from the other guys’ attention. This was out of character for me, but after our conversation the other night, I needed to show Jack how I felt. Several of the guys groaned, but then walked back to the basketball court, leaving us alone. “You know my favorite pastry?” He asked, his lips twitching now with the beginning of a smile. I rolled my eyes, relaxing a bit with his teasing. “I’ve paid attention. Don’t get a big head.” “I asked because I think I love […]

ARC Review | Fleeting by Carrie Aarons

It all started with a dog who ate a pair of lace pink underwear. Fleeting is the first book in The Nash Brothers series. Fleeting is about the oldest Nash brother, Keaton. This is a small town romance where the hometown vet meets the city girl. I have read many of Carrie Aaron’s books and I have watched her grow as an author and I would say The Nash Brothers is probably be one of my favorite books by Carrie. I really enjoyed Fleeting. It is the perfect book to read in a day ESPECIALLY if you are in a reading slump. The story grabs you from beginning to end. The Story The story takes place in Fawn Hill. It is a very small town where everyone knows everything and everyone. There is no such thing as a secret because everyone is up in your business. I really loved the […]

Review | Sugar Rush by Bella Emy

Sugar Rush is the second book in the Single On Valentine’s Day series. You do not need to read the first book Seven Minutes in Heaven to read Sugar Rush. Office Romances aren’t really my favorite trope. I haven’t found one that makes me really love this trope so you have recs please send them my way. This also includes friends to lovers trope, which is one of my favorite tropes EVER. And this one was pretty well done. Just like Seven Minutes In Heaven, Sugar Rush takes place around Valentine’s Day. Now I’m not sure if they all are taking place in the same time period or if they are in different years but other than being involved in the same series and the central idea of Single Status (the dating service for singles on Valentine’s day) I feel like you can read the entire series in any order. […]

Mini Reviews: McLoughlin Brothers Trilogy by Emma Tharp

Moving On is the first series in the McLoughlin Brothers Trilogy. It was a very quick friends to lovers / enemies to lovers book. The story begins in Ireland. Braeden is on vacation when he runs into Scarlette who is also in Ireland on her own. Her grandmother wasn’t able to make the trip with her but she wanted to continue the trip with her. Scarlette is going through a rough time, she just broke up with her boyfriend she is also in another country by herself and her luggage is lost! Isn’t that rotten luck? Moving On is told in Scarlette’s point of view only. She was a good narrator I did enjoy the writing and the story. Braeden is one of Scarlette’s friend’s exes. This was actually handled VERY WELL and made me like the story a lot more. Moving On was definitely a quick lighthearted read that […]

ARC Review | The Tenth Girl by Carrie Aarons

My first impressions of The Tenth Girl were that this cover is gorgeous. Carrie Aarons is the queen of gorgeous covers. I’ve read quite a few of Carrie Aarons novels and know that I can expect something light and quick. I’m just a little worried because Carrie writes more New Adult and this is Young Adult. But I’m excited to see what she does in The Tenth Girl. The Story The premise of The Tenth Girl reminded me slightly of my favorite movie ever She’s All That except this one is a bit messier. The bet in She’s All That is taking the most unpopular girl in school and making her the prom queen. The bet in The Tenth Girl is a group of football players making a bet to sleep with 10 girls before senior year and they win this key to a popular hang out in town. The […]

Release Day Blitz | You’re The One I Don’t Want by Carrie Aarons

First Thoughts before starting You’re The One I Don’t Want: I am really excited to read about Annabelle and Boone’s story. There were a few clues about their story in The Tenth Girl and it left me wanting more. The Story You’re The One I Don’t Want is a companion novel to The Tenth Girl. You definitely don’t need to read The Tenth Girl to read this. The story picks up a couple years after The Tenth Girl ends. Annabelle is in college and about to graduate. She’s also on a reality show similar to flipping houses. Boone is just drafted to Austin’s Triple A team and is also working towards finishing his degree before he makes it to the big leagues. I really loved how Carrie showed both Annabelle and Boone working towards their careers and also focusing on school. I feel like sometimes college-based characters never go to […]

Blog Tour + Giveaway | Remember That Night by Katrina Marie

Remember That Night is the fourth book in the Taking Chances series. Each one could be read as a standalone but if you want to read this one, I suggest reading Cruel and Beautiful Life to full understand this book. Plus there is some spoilers from the other books so proceed with caution. Darcy and Derrick are the main characters for Remember That Night and the story is told in their point of views. That’s something I personally like because I love getting inside the character’s head and learning their prospective. About The Characters Derrick is probably my second favorite in the series. Jake (Ways To Go) is still my favorite sorry not sorry Derrick. He’s very sweet, attentive and romantic. He seems very different compared to the other guys in the series but Jake just owns my heart. I really enjoyed the fact that he played basketball and he […]

Blog Tour + Giveaway | Ways To Go by Katrina Marie

Ways To Go is the third book in the Taking Chances series; you don’t have to read the previous books (Welcome To Your Life and Cruel and Beautiful World) to read Ways To Go. Ways To Go follows Jake, a character that we met and disliked in Welcome To Your Life. I’m not afraid to admit that I was terrified of reading Ways To Go because I didn’t like Jake very much in Welcome To Your Life and I didn’t think he could truly turn himself around. But let me tell you, Katrina you really outdone yourself. This was by far my favorite character and my favorite book in the series. The Story Ways To Go takes place a couple months after Welcome To Your Life ends so to fully understand the story, I would personally read the first book. I didn’t feel like it was such a long gap […]

Did Say You’ll Remember ..

Did Say You’ll Remember Me by Katie McGarry live up to the hype? (Audio Review)

Trigger Warning: Domestic Violence, Emotional and Psychological Abuse, Sexual Assault, Gun Violence Say You’ll Remember Me was one of my most anticipated releases of 2018. I had extremely high expectations because the cover was gorgeous and the synopsis sounded like something right up my alley. I was so eager to read Say You’ll Remember Me that I put the audiobook and the eBook on hold at the library in hopes that one of them would be ready for me to read. The audiobook was actually the first one available and I will admit that I was a bit hesitant to listen to the audiobook because I’m not a huge fan of contemporary novels on audiobook but I waited so long for Say You’ll Remember Me that I decided to give the audiobook a chance. The Story Say You’ll Remember Me can be summed up by saying that it is a […]
